Pegasus' Dream
Pegasus' Dream
Oil on canvas, 1978/79 60cm x 75cm (24" x 30")

Artist's Interpretation:

Sprung from the Gorgon's blood, this winged marvelous horse knew in the freedom of space the friendship of the ancient Gods. Man also knows the freedom of movement within the limitations imposed by space (mountains), time (stone-skull), and life (woman - the anthropomourphous tree as a modern sculpture of the Past). The horse, the wingless modern Pegasus, runs through the open field while the bird roams in the open sky. Man as Pegasus can still dream of his lost wings and be free as soon as he realizes that at dawn all dreams return to Olympus.
